All Saints Day
We will observe All Saints Day on November 4th. During worship we will include prayers for those who have passed from this life into God’s eternal care. We encourage you to attend as we find comfort in the “Communion of the Saints”. We will also celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion on that day.
Find out more »Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution
Old Bergen Church will be the site for this year’s Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution by the Hudson County Food Bank. Over sixteen agencies will receive turkeys to share with needy families for the holiday. Mayor Fulop will be present for the event. We welcome any volunteers who wish to assist in the effort, Monday, November 12 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, in the church parking lot.

The Journal Square/McGinley Square community will hold an Interfaith Thanksgiving service on Sunday afternoon, November 18th at Saint Aloyisius Catholic Church, 691 West Side Avenue. Parking will be available on Belmont Avenue that afternoon. Rabbi Leana Moritt, the new rabbi at Temple Beth El, will give the sermon. Please support our community and give thanks!

The Student Council of PS #16, Cornelia Bradford Elementary, sponsored a Food Drive to benefit the Old Bergen Church Food Pantry. We will hold our next Food Pantry Distribution on Saturday, December 22nd, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Thank you, students! Way to go!

Jersey City Together will hold a special action on the last night of Hannukah, December 9th, at 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. We will join with others in our community for a special Service of Remembrance for those who have passed from this life during the past year. This service is especially for those who have died from causes related to homelessness and may have not been afforded a traditional funeral or memorial service.
