PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN OF THE PALISADES -will host a Spring Gathering on Saturday April 21 at the First Presbyterian Church of Maywood from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm. Rev. Pentecost Sunday
Pentecost is the day we commemorate the gift of the Holy Spirit empowering the followers of Christ, fifty days after the resurrection. Many refer to this day as the “birthday of the church.” At Old Bergen Church, Pentecost is a special day of celebration. We will receive new confirmation students as church members. The Enterprise Masonic Lodge is holding a charity golf tournament for the benefit of Old Bergen Church Food Pantry on Saturday, May 26th. The event will take place at the Meadows Golf Club in Lincon Park, NJ. Registration is at 8:30 AM. We are grateful to Elder Tom Buno for organizing this event with the Lodge.

Our next monthly Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, May 26th, from 9:00 AM until 12 noon. Please call the church office or Betsy Kishlansky if you are interested in serving as a volunteer. Individuals needing Food Assistance are required to bring a referral form from one of the area social service agencies and some form of identification. This outreach ministry is carried out in cooperation with Let's Celebrate Services and the Hudson County Food Bank.

Old Bergen Church, in cooperation with the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy will host a tour of our historic cemetery on Saturday, May 26th at 6:00 PM. Family Promise Homeless Shelter
Old Bergen will be hosting four families in our church building this June for our second experience with Family Promise. For two weeks our upstairs rooms will serve as "home" for families who are in the midst of a homeless crisis. We provide a place for them to stay, an evening meal, and accompaniment during their time of need. During the day the families are away at school, child care, work, and the Family Promise Day Center. Beginning June 17th, Sunday morning worship will begin at 10:00 AM. There will be no Sunday School classes for the summer. Worship will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM each Sunday through Labor Day.

We will hold our Annul Church Picnic on Sunday, June 17th (Fathers' Day). Following worship we will proceed to the south parking lot for the picnic hosted by our Sunday School Teachers. The church will provide burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Everyone is encouraged to bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share. Join us for this great event - and bring your friends!

After School Summer Program
We are pleased to announce that the Old Bergen Church After School Program is offering a children's summer program July 7 through August 17th. The program runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Lunch is provided.
