Deacons’ Christmas Project
The Deacons are sponsoring a Christmas Project with York Street Shelter and Nurturing Place. We are donating pajamas to the children at the shelter. Wrapped gifts need to be returned to the church by Sunday, December 15th. The gifts will be delivered to York Street Shelter on December 16th. Thank you to all who have picked up a star with a child's name.

The third week of Advent we look forward to being blessed by special music in worship. Our Broadway friend, Angela Birchette, has been busy singing with Idina Menzel at the Rockefeller Tree Lighting, on the Today Show, and at Carigie Hall. But this Sunday she will return to us at Old Bergen Church to share her gift of music with us in worship. Be sure to attend, and invite your friends!

On Sunday, December 22nd, we will observe the Fourth Sunday of Advent. As part of the worship service the children will present the story of the birth of Jesus in a tableau pageant. Old Bergen Church will hold a Christmas Eve Candlelight service on December 24th at 7:00 PM. This will be in coordination with the Christian Church of Jersey City and the MidEast Evangelical Church. Come join in the wonder and awe of Christmas as we worship together on this holy night.

If you would like to order poinsettias to celebrate the birth of Christ and to help beautify the sanctuary for Christmas you may purchase them for $15 each. The flowers will be delivered on December 20th and remain in the sanctuary through Christmas Eve. ORDINATION and INSTALLATION of CHURCH OFFICERS

Find out more »FAMILY PROMISE – HOMELESS SHELTER MINISTRY
Old Bergen Church will serve as host to area families experiencing a housing crisis. From Sunday, February 23 to Sunday, March 1, our church building will be a temporary homeless shelter for four families. We will provide evening meals, and breakfast snacks, as well as accompaniment during their journey back to housing security. Please consider donating time or goods to this important ministry. On Thursday evening, February 27th, Old Bergen Church will host a benefit concert with Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, David Lamotte. David is a friend of Old Bergen and has visited here with his family. He is a popular singer, author and speaker. We will hold our next monthly Food Pantry distribution on Saturday, February 29th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Anyone interested in helping as a volunteer is welcome to show up just before 9:00. You can assist for an hour or the entire morning. Last year we provided food for over a thousand individuals in Jersey City experiencing food insecurities. Your efforts make a real difference in people's lives!
