Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, February 22nd marks the beginning of Lent. We will hold an Ash Wednesday Service with the imposition of ashes at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary. In this worship experience we remember our human frailty and our dependence upon God as we recall “from ashes we were created and to ashes we shall return.” Join us on Wednesday evening as we begin our Lenten journey together.

On Sunday, February 26th, we held our first Confirmation Class of the year. We were pleased to welcome a number of students to this series that explores the meaning and practices of our faith. The group will continue to meet once a month and culminate in a one day retreat in May. The young people will be confirmed and received into church membership on Sunday, June 4th. Congratulations Confirmands!

Installation and Ordination of Church Officers
On March 5th we will ordain and install a new class of deacons, trustees and elders. This will take place during the 11:00 AM worship service.

Just a reminder that we will “spring ahead” for Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, March 12th. Please set your clocks ahead one hour when you go to bed on Saturday night.
Find out more »St. Patrick’s Day Church Luncheon
We are excited to return to regular fellowship events again this year. Each month we will host some kind of fellowship meal. On March 12th, following worship we will enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day themed luncheon of Corned Beef and Cooked Cabbage! There is no charge for the lunch which will be held in Brett Fellowship Hall immediately following worship. Come join us for food and fellowship! The church will be ordering Easter lilies and tulips for Easter morning. If you are interested in purchasing any of these they are $15 and can be picked up after the morning worship service on Easter, April 9th. You can use one of the forms on the table at the front of the sanctuary or call the church office at 201-433-1815. Deadline for ordering flowers is April 2nd.

After a three year break, the Sunday school teachers will host an Easter breakfast again this year on Easter morning, April 9th at 9:15 in Brett Hall. It will be catered by Wonder Bagel. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for youth, $3 for children age 3 to 11, and children under three are free. You can purchase tickets from any of the Sunday school teachers.

Old Bergen Church holds a Food Pantry the last Saturday of each month (with the exception of November and December when the Food Pantry is the Saturday before Thanksgiving and Christmas). It is held in the fellowship hall of the church located on the ground floor. The entrance is off the parking lot behind the church.
