Whitewater Rafting
Join us for a day of fun and fellowship as Old Bergen Church participates in its annual Whitewater Rafting Trip. We will leave from the church at 7:45 AM on Saturday, August 12th. The group will carpool to the Lehigh River and return late afternoon. Cost for the event is $50. What does it mean to "LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR"? The children of our congregation, along with children from a number of other churches, Temple Beth El and the Islamic Center will explore this shared faith value as we participate in a SUMMER PEACE CAMP - BUILDING A NEIGHBORHOOD TOGETHER. After School Program Opens @ Old Bergen Church
We are excited to announce the opening of a new After School Program at Old Bergen Church. This project-based enrichment program is open to all children grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The program will run from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM Mondays through Fridays (in conjunction with the JCPS calendar). We are excited to welcome Sherima Absolam as Coordinator and Site Director. Jersey City Together Action Event
1130 faith leaders from thirty-five congregations recently attended the city-wide gathering of Jersey City Together on October 2nd, 7:00 PM at NJCU. About twenty members of Old Bergen Church took part - joining together to work for a better Jersey City for ALL its residents. Both mayoral candidates were in attendance, along with a number of city and county elected officials and candidates. Stay tuned for further actions and workshops.

This Sunday we will celebrate the sacrament of baptism for Mia Seurai (daughter of Melissa and Melvin Seurai) during the eleven o'clock worship. A coffee fellowship reception will follow worship in the church parlor.

Come join us at the Open House for Old Bergen's new After School Program. Meet the teachers, see the facilities and enjoy face painting and arts and crafts. We are excited to open this new ministry and program for children Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The event is also part of Lights On Afterschool - a nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities.

On Sunday, October 29th, we will commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. The sanctuary will be decorated with the banners of the Reformation. Our young people will share about the Reformed tradition and history. The sermon is entitled "Ecclesia Reformata, Semper Reformanda" "The Reformed Church, Always Being Reformed".

Junior High and High School young people are invited to stay after church on October 29th for lunch and youth fellowship. There will be food, music, recreation and fellowship in Brett Hall. Bring a costume if you wish. Best costume will get a prize! The event will conclude at 2:00 pm.

All Saints Day Observed
All Saints Day is November 1st. We will observe All Saints Day Sunday on November 5th. Part of the worship service will include special prayers for those who have passed from this life into God's eternal care. We will recognize the "Communion of the Saints" as we gather in worship. Those who wish to list their loved ones in the bulletin insert, please call or email the church office 201-433-1815 or oldbergenchurch@gmail.com by November 1.
Find out more »Thanksgiving Turkeys
Old Bergen Church will serve as a distribution center for the Hudson County Food Bank as they give out Thanksgiving turkeys this year. On Monday, November 20th about twenty agencies will receive turkeys to share with needy families this Thanksgiving. Idf you are willing to help with the unloading and loading, please stop by the church Monday morning between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.
