Church Picnic
Join us for our annual church picnic on Sunday, June 23rd. Following worship, we will gather in the south parking lot for food, fellowship, music and games. The Sunday School will provide burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share.

Summer Peace Camp
Mark your calendars now for our third Children’s Summer Peace Camp. The dates will be Monday through Thursday mornings from 9:00 AM until noon, August 19 – 22. We will hold an open house and closing block party on Thursday evening, August 22nd. This is an Interfaith children’s program for young people grades kindergarten through fifth grade. We will hold our monthly Food Panty on Saturday, August 31st from 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Each month Old Bergen Church provides groceries to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. We welcome volunteers to serve as intake assistants or to help bag or distribute food to the clients. Contact the church office for more information. The Food Pantry is held the fourth Saturday of every month.

Rally Day
Our Christian Education program resumes this fall with Rally Day on Sunday, September 8th. There will be an informal gathering time in the parlor from 10:00 - 10:45 with displays from the summer programs, resources to browse, an opportunity to meet the Sunday School teachers, and refreshments. Classes will begin the following Sunday, September 15th with gathering time in the chapel at 9:45 AM. Wednesday Night Bible Study will resume September 11.

Sunday morning worship will resume the "regular" 11:00 worship hour beginning September 8th. After a summer shift to an earlier (10:00 am ) worship service we will hold Sunday School from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by worship at 11:00 AM until noon. Please note that we will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord's Supper on Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 1st, at 10:00.

Old Bergen Church has been selected to receive the Preservation Initiative Award at the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy 2019 Preservation Awards Ceremony. The Preservation Initiative Award recognizes extraordinary efforts by an individual or organization in promoting the protection of a historic resource. Old Bergen was selected because of the work in restoring our historic cemetery. The ceremony will be September 19th at White Eagle Hall at 7:30 pm. On Saturday, September 21st , we will hold our second Fall Flea Market at Old Bergen. Proceeds will benefit the charitable ministries of the Deacons and other ministries of the church. We welcome kitchen items, gently used clothing, small appliances, and other goods. We will receive items at the church September 15 – 20, and the Flea Market itself will be Saturday, September 21st from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Family Promise Homeless Ministry
We wish to thank all who helped Old Bergen offer hospitality and shelter to four homeless families December 1-8 by donating time, meals, food and supplies, or for staying overnight at the church with the families.
