New Church Officers
On June 13th the congregation elected a new class of officers - Deacons, Trustees and Elders. They include: Raymond Eccelston, Semi Taafua, Ahmed Abdelahy, and Tofi Taafua as Deacons; Al Cebedo and Tom Buno as Trustees; and Wendy Badree, Wendy Boodoosingh, and Harriette Harris as Elders. We are grateful that even in the pandemic, Old Bergen Church has been able to maintain its Food Pantry ministry. We do so with fewer volunteers present, and limited clients in the building at a time - following state and county guidelines. In this time of hardship over half of the people who come to our Food Pantry are seeking food assistance for the first time in their lives. Worship this Fall
The Consistory Session has decided to open up the church again for in person worship. We will also broadcast the services on FaceBook live streaming video for those more comfortable participating at home. The pews are marked off for social distancing. With the emergence of the Delta Variant and rising infection rates, we encourage all participants to wear masks indoors. All worship services begin at 11:00 AM. Our Pastor, Rev. Jon Brown, will be away from July 22 to August 7 serving as keynote speaker for weeks five and six of the Montreat Youth Conferences in North Carolina. https://montreat.org/events/myc2021 The theme for this summer's youth conferences is "Called to Connect." Our next Food Pantry will be Saturday, August 28 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Those needing food assistance are asked to bring a referral form from one of the area social service agencies (such as Let's Celebrate, Women Rising, PACO, Jersey City Resident Response Center, Urban League, Hudson CASA, Horizon Family Success Center). Labor Day Weekend

In 2016 Jersey City Together launched its first meeting wit over 800 people in the Old Bergen Church sanctuary.
