Congregational Meeting
The Consistory Session has called for a Congregational Meeting December 14th after worship for the purpose of changing the By Laws of the church to combine Trustees and Consistory Session by eliminating the board of Trustees, giving those responsibilities to the Elders and adding three new members to the Consistory Session.

Annual Meeting
The Consistory Session has called for a congregational meeting on February 8th, following worship for the purpose of holding our Annual Meeting. There will be a chili cook-off for lunch and then the Annual Meeting will proceed with reports from committees and ministries, a review of the annual budget, election of new officers, and review of the Pastor’s terms of call.

Ordination and Installation of New Officers
We will ordain and install a new class of church officers on Sunday, March 1st, during the eleven o’clock worship service. The newly elected officers include: (Deacons) Emily Carli, Robert Williams, Shirley Thompson, Kellie Lewis and Omar Baptiste, along with (Elders) Lilian Nerahoo, Johnnie Lovejoy, John Folk, Harriette Harris Davis, Marlon Lewis, and Albino Cebedo.

On Thursday evening, March 12th, Pastor Jon will share a presentation at the Museum of Jersey City History. The program is “The History of Old Bergen Church: The oldest religious congregation in New Jersey.” The museum is located at the Apple Tree House on 298 Academy Street in Jersey City. The museum is free and open to the public.

As a result of the Annual Meeting, we are establishing eight Ministry Teams to plan and carry out the work and mission of the church. They will do this with the help of a core team of member and non-member volunteers. Each team determines how and when to meet and communicate needs. Maundy Thursday Service
We will hold a Maundy Thursday service at Old Bergen Church on Thursday, April 2nd, at 7:00 PM in the church sanctuary. It will include a recollection of the Passover Seder that Jesus celebrated with his disciples at the Last Supper. We will share in the sacrament of Communion around tables and hear once again Jesus words following that meal about a New Commandment to love one another. Join us at 7:00 PM.

Join us for ur Good Friday service on April 3rd at 7:00 PM. We will recall the passion of Christ at his crucifixion and hear a dramatic reading of his Seven Last Words in a service of darkness and light. Don't miss this moving worship experience.

Come join the church family for Easter Breakfast on Easter Sunday, April 5th in Brett Fellowship Hall. The Sunday school teachers host this annual event. This year there will be no ticket sales, but donations will be accepted. Breakfast begins at 9:30 AM
Find out more »Easter Service of the Resurrection
Come celebrate the resurrection of Christ at the Easter worship service at 11:00 AM. We will begin with a processional and ringing of bells. The church will be decorated with Easter Lillies and other flowers and barbers. We will have a special Celebration Choir and welcome trumpet player, Benjamin Hankle to provide special music. The service will also include the celebration of the sacrament of Communion.
