Eight members were elected as Deacons, Trustees and Elders of Old Bergen Church at our Annual Meeting on February 23rd. They join the other officers in leading and service the church. World Communion Sunday
Since 1933 the first Sunday of October has been set aside to celebrate our Christian unity and ecumenical partnership with other Christian around the world. We will celebrate World Communion Sunday on October 5th with music and liturgy from our siblings in Christ from around the world. The service will begin with a procession of various styles of bread representing our diverse global identity, and will conclude with the sacrament of Communion. Pastor Jon will be away participating in a continuing education event sponsored by the Presbyterian Board of Pensions. October 19th to the 28th. On Sunday, October 26th, Rev. Roland Ratmeyer will be our guest preacher.

Come join is as a volunteer at our monthly Food Pantry. The next two Food Pantries are October 25th and November 22nd. The food distribution take place in Brett Hall from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We could also use volunteers to help unload the delivery from the Community Food Bank of NJ on Friday morning, October 24th or November 2ist. We will celebrate our Reformed heritage on Reformation Sunday, October 26th. Our former pastor, Rev. Roland Ratmeyer will be our guest preacher that day. The sanctuary will be adorned with the banners representing the creeds and confessions of our faith and the young people will share the stories of those banners of faith.

All Saints Day Observed – November 2nd
On Sunday, November 2nd, we will remember those saints who have passed from this life into God’s eternal care, yet are still with us in spirit. Members are invited to light a candle and recall the names of loved ones. We will also celebrate Communion. In addition, Chelyse Elaine Manwah, daughter of Chelsea and Jason Manwah, will be baptized on that day.
