Jersey City Together Action with Mayor James Solomon

Jersey City Together will hold an important public action with the newly elected Mayor James Solomon. We are presenting to him the “People’s Blueprint for Jersey City” – calling on the mayor to to commit to working with us to protect affordable housing and create even more affordable units (a Bayfront and other locations). We will also ask him to enforce the employers payroll tax that provides funding for our public schools. While the payroll tax was passed in 2018, the city has not actively enforced the collection resulting in a higher levy from the pubic schools on average citizens. It is important to show the interest and support of the religious communities as we engage with this new administration.
