Lenten Season – Stop in the Name of Love

This year February 14 marks Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten Season. Old Bergen Church will hold an evening Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00 PM, including the imposition of ashes. Our theme for the whole season of Lent is: STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE.
Stop… stop wasting your time and resources on things that detract from the amazing and beautiful person you were meant to be.
Stop… harboring the grudge and anger and self pity that you thought was a weapon against the one who harmed you, but has now become your own prison and poison.
Stop… resisting that voice that tells you to reach out to your neighbor, to take on that project, to pick up the phone and call.
Stop… and reflect on the bigger picture, the dreams you let die, the love you have to offer.
